Three of the six automatic qualifying spots for the U.S. Ryder Cup team have now been filled, with J.J. Spaun and Xander Schauffele joining Scottie Scheffler on captain Keegan Bradley’s roster.

Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau and Harris English enter the final week of automatic qualifying on Monday in the Nos. 4-6 spots, respectively, in the U.S. rankings.

The top six after this week’s BMW Championship will represent Team USA against Team Europe at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y., from Sept. 26-28. The squad will have six additional captain’s picks, with Bradley potentially competing as a playing captain.

Spaun secured his spot with a runner-up finish Sunday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, where he lost to England’s Justin Rose in a playoff. The 2025 U.S. Open champion is up to No. 6 in the Official World Golf Ranking after starting the year outside the top 100.

Schauffele, who has made 70 consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour, finished T22 on Sunay to mathematically clinch his spot.

Scheffler finished T3 on Sunday but has long been a lock for the squad with wins at the PGA Championship and the Open Championship this year, along with victories at the Memorial and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Russell Henley has 11,904.82 Ryder Cup rankings points, followed by DeChambeau (10,774.98), English (10,439.55) and Justin Thomas (10,347.59).

Players gain one point per $1,000 earned at each non-major PGA TOUR event and gain 1.5 points per $1,000 earned at major championships. The BMW Championship, with a $20 million purse, opens Thursday at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md.

DeChambeau, who competes with LIV Golf, has no chance to earn additional points this week. However, Bradley said last month that there would be a spot on the team for the two-time U.S. Open champion whether he stays in the top six or not.
