KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 (Reuters) – Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said U.S. chipmaker Intel has announced an additional investment of 860 million ringgit ($208 million) in the country for assembly and testing operations.

Anwar said in a social media post on Monday that the announcement followed a meeting between himself and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

In 2021, Intel had announced it would build a $7 billion advanced chip packaging plant in Malaysia.
