PARIS, April 14 (Reuters) – Diplomatic meetings led by France and Britain this week to discuss a potential future multinational mission will be structured around a series of working groups, ranging from possible sanctions on Iran to cooperation with industry to ensure maritime transit, a person familiar with the matter said.
According to the person, talks among senior diplomats ahead of a meeting co‑chaired by the British and French leaders on Friday will focus on upholding freedom of navigation and maritime security, pursuing economic measures against Iran if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, securing the release of seafarers and stranded vessels, and working with industry to support readiness to resume transit when conditions allow.
