Franco-German cyclist arrested in Iran, Iran’s Araghchi says

PARIS (Reuters) -An 18-year-old French-German cyclist who had been missing in Iran since mid-June was arrested in Iran, Iran’s foreign minister told French newspaper Le Monde on Thursday.

“He was arrested for committing a crime, and an official notification regarding his situation was sent to the French embassy,” Abbas Araghchi said, without providing further details.

The French foreign ministry said it was in contact with Iranian authorities and would not comment further.
