Former Florida State quarterback Trever Jackson committed to Arkansas on Thursday, filling a spot once held by Madden Iamaleava.

A true freshman, Iamaleava entered the transfer portal before ever playing for the Razorbacks and joined his older brother Nico Iamaleava, a former Tennessee starting quarterback who transferred to UCLA.

Jackson made an official visit to Arkansas on Wednesday and will be on full scholarship after being a preferred walk-on at Florida State in 2024. He redshirted last season, appearing in one game and rushing once for 2 yards in a 41-7 win over Charleston Southern.

He will have four years of eligibility remaining. Senior Taylen Green is the incumbent starter for the Razorbacks, with Jackson joining redshirt freshman KJ Jackson and freshman Grayson Wilson as reserves.

Trever Jackson was a four-star recruit and the No. 26 quarterback in the Class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. After starring at Jones High School in Orlando, Fla., he chose FSU over scholarship offers.

Arkansas offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Bobby Petrino recruited Jackson when he was the OC at Texas A&M.

“If Bobby Petrino wants a guy, and especially at the position that he coaches, it’s pretty much that’s what you should do,” Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman said Thursday. “He certainly knows a lot more about quarterback than I do.”
