(Reuters) -Sirens sounded in Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip on Friday, prompting the military to launch an interceptor missile towards a suspected threat, the Israeli military said.
The military later confirmed that the launch was triggered by a false alarm, and no threat was detected.
Israeli media reported on Friday that U.S. Middle East peace envoy Steve Witkoff is visiting a food distribution centre in Gaza.
