Former major-leaguer Rafael Furcal turned himself in to the Broward County jail in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Thursday and was charged with two felony counts.

Furcal faces counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and throwing a “missile” into a public or private dwelling.

The 47-year-old ex-shortstop lives in nearby Weston, Fla., according to South Florida’s local10.com.

The warrant was signed by the Sunrise (Fla.) Police Department.

Furcal told a reporter that he was attacked with a knife by a truck driver, prompting him to throw a rock into the truck, hitting the driver’s hand.

A three-time All-Star, Furcal batted .281 with a .346 on-base percentage, a .402 slugging percentage, 113 home runs, 587 RBIs and 314 steals in 1,614 games.
