Ecuador names Antonio Goncalves as new minister of energy and mines

QUITO (Reuters) – Ecuador’s government on Tuesday appointed Antonio Goncalves as the country’s new minister of energy and mines, meaning he will take over from Transportation Minister Roberto Luque, who held the role on an interim basis.
Luque took over the role from Andrea Arrobo, who was asked to resign as minister amid an energy emergency in the Andean country in April.
