Newly acquired cornerback Jaire Alexander will not play when the Philadelphia Eagles face the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, with the Eagles opting to hold him out against his former team.

Alexander, 28, has appeared in only two games this season — both with Baltimore — after undergoing knee surgery in January. The Ravens traded him to Philadelphia shortly before last week’s deadline in a pick swap.

Although Alexander was not listed on the injury report and said in recent days that his knee felt the best it had all season, the Eagles said the former All-Pro will remain in Philadelphia to continue his rehabilitation rather than travel to Green Bay, where he spent his first seven NFL seasons.

Alexander’s official designation is knee/coach’s decision.

Eagles center Cam Jurgens (knee) will also miss the “Monday Night Football” contest. Cornerback Jakorian Bennett (pectoral), guard Willie Lampkin (knee/ankle) and linebacker Nolan Smith (triceps) have questionable tags.

Packers cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee) and defensive lineman Luke Van Ness (foot) are listed as out against Philadelphia. Offensive lineman Zach Tom (back) and receivers Matthew Golden (shoulder), Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (foot) are questionable.

The Eagles (6-2) will face the Packers (5-2-1) on Monday night.
