(Reuters) -Chemical maker DuPont said on Friday it will sell its Aramids business to peer Arclin for $1.8 billion.

The sale comes as the Wilmington, Delaware-based company undergoes a broader reorganization, including the spinoff of its electronics business.

DuPont will sell the Kevlar and Nomex brands from the Aramids portfolio as a part of the agreement.

The company expects pre-tax cash proceeds of about $1.2 billion upon the sale’s close, along with a note receivable of $300 million and a non-controlling stake valued at $325 million in Arclin.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
