Dec 5 (Reuters) – Delta Air Lines said on Friday it had resumed operations at the Detroit airport after a brief ground stop for all its flights due to a technical connectivity issue.
The carrier issued a travel waiver for passengers traveling through the airport on Friday and Saturday.
A total of 36 flights were canceled and 97 were delayed, according to data from FlightAware. The issue is specific to Delta, the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport said in a post on X.
The airport is one of Delta’s biggest hubs with flights to 106 destinations around the globe, according to data on the company’s website.
A ground stop is an air traffic control measure that temporarily halts flights from departing for a specific airport or region, usually due to safety, weather or operational issues.
“We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers and thank them for their patience as Delta teams work to safely return to normal operations,” Delta said.
