April 10 (Reuters) – Daimler Truck, one of the world’s largest truckmakers, on Friday reported a 9% decline in first-quarter group unit sales, weighed down by a sharp slowdown in North America. The company sold 68,849 vehicles in the first three months of 2026, down from 75,758 units a year earlier.
Sales at its Trucks North America business fell 25% to 29,432 units.
In March, CFO Eva Scherer warned that the impact from U.S. tariffs will be significantly higher in 2026, following the introduction of 25% duties by President Donald Trump starting in November last year.
