BEIJING, Dec 3 (Reuters) – China’s former senior anti-corruption inspector, Li Gang, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for accepting bribes worth more than 102 million yuan ($14.44 million), state broadcaster CCTV reported on Wednesday.

Li, who previously headed the discipline inspection and supervision team of the Chinese Communist Party’s organization department, was also fined six million yuan, CCTV said, citing a local court ruling.

Wuhan Intermediate People’s Court said Li’s sentence was reduced because he had provided information leading to other corruption cases, had confessed to his crimes, had expressed remorse and had returned most of the funds he had received.
