BEIJING (Reuters) -China’s market regulator on Monday published the country’s first national safety standards for cross-border processing of personal information.

The regulation, which takes effect on March 1 2026, sets out principles, core requirements and obligations for protecting personal information rights that relevant parties must follow when processing data across borders.
