Brown’s nonconference road game against Southern California on Sunday was canceled by mutual decision in the wake of the shooting at the school in Rhode Island.

Two students were killed and nine others were wounded Saturday after a shooter opened fire in an engineering and physics building on Brown’s campus in Providence, R.I. Police still are searching for the gunman.

“The entire USC community sends its support to Brown University following the tragedy that has impacted its students, staff, alumni and the city of Providence,” USC said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Trojans (10-1) will face a yet-to-be-announced opponent on Sunday, the school said.

Brown (5-7) is slated to return to action on Dec. 31 against Johnson & Wales in Providence.

Brown also announced that its women’s basketball game against visiting Monmouth, also Sunday, was canceled.
