Approval rating of Brazil’s Lula falls to 24% from 35%, pollster Datafolha says

SAO PAULO (Reuters) -Approval of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s government dropped to 24% from 35% in December, pollster Datafolha said on Friday.
The government’s disapproval rate rose to 41% from 34% in the same period, while those seeing his government as average rose to 32% from 29%.
Both the approval and disapproval rates are the worst-ever results for the leftist leader across his three terms in office, according to Datafolha.
Lula has been struggling to capture the vast popularity he had in earlier terms, with his government’s approval rates never topping 40% from the time he started his most recent term in 2023, Datafolha data showed.
The survey of 2,007 voters was conducted from February 10 to 11 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
