SAO PAULO, May 5 (Reuters) – Brazil’s beef exports could drop 10% in 2026 from the year before due to China’s 55% tariff on beef imports that exceed quota levels, lobby group ABIEC president Roberto Perosa said on Tuesday.

Speaking to journalists, Perosa also said that the country’s beef production aimed at China is expected to halt around June. China, which is Brazil’s top trading partner, imposed the tariff this year in a move to protect its domestic cattle industry.
