LONDON (Reuters) -The Bank of England deputy governor Sarah Breeden on Wednesday said it was ‘really important’ that the US and the UK are synchronised on stablecoin regulation.

Breeden’s comments come less than a week before the central bank will launch a consultation on regulating stablecoins – cryptoassets pegged to fiat currency – that will soften previous proposals. Breeden confirmed reports that the consultation will be published on Nov. 10.

“I’ve been talking to the Federal Reserve…the regulators over there and our finance ministries are working together,” said Breeden at the SALT conference in London.

US and U.K. governments announced in September a task force aimed at boosting collaboration on digital assets and capital markets.
