The Colorado Avalanche signed rookie forward Gavin Brindley to a two-year contract extension through the 2027-28 season on Tuesday.

Brindley, 21, has posted five points (three goals, two assists) in 14 games with the team this season.

The Colunbus Blue Jackets selected him with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and traded him to the Avalanche on June 27, 2025, along with a third-round pick in the 2025 draft and a conditional second-round pick in 2027, for forwards Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood.

He scored his first game-winning overtime career goal on Sunday at Vancouver.

Last season, Brindley appeared in 52 games with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League and recorded 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in 52 games.

He played collegiately at Michigan and won a gold medal with the United States at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship.
