VERBATIM: The state has a law that requires all public schools post the Decalogue in every classroom but a federal judge has suspended the legislation while a challenge plays out in court. The American Civil Liberties Union is representing a group of families who believe the 10 Commandments law is a violation of the so-called separation of church and state. The bill reads “No person, physician, or health care provider in the State of West Virginia shall participate in the practice of medically assisted suicide, euthanasia, or mercy killing of a person.” So far, 10 states and the District of Columbia have made it legal for people to commit suicide with a doctor’s help.
