Ron DeSantis is losing his biggest donor to Donald Trump. Hotel entrepreneur Robert Bigelow announced that he’s switching his support to Donald Trump. However, he won’t be opening his wallet just yet. Bigelow said he will remain on the sidelines until he sees what happens with the former president’s criminal trials. He told Reuters he won’t make any donations to Trump until he’s sure he’s not headed to prison. Bigelow is a major Republican donor who gave 20-million dollars to a pro-DeSantis super PAC in March.

Plans are already in the works for the next GOP presidential primary debate. Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel says the party has plans for additional debates in the 2024 election cycle. A fourth debate is scheduled for early next month in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. To make the stage, candidates must garner at least 6 percent in two approved polls, and gather at least 80-thousand unique donors representing 20 or more states.

Republican candidates still found time to criticize each other during a policy-focused debate. A recent campaign feud between Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley carried over to the debate stage. Haley also took issue when Vivek Ramaswamy mentioned her daughter using TikTok. Ramaswamy opened the debate by tearing into the mainstream media, as well as the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee.

Tonight’s Republican debate is expected to feature both domestic and foreign policy questions. This is the first debate since the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel and the military response. Ukraine and China are other hot-button foreign policy issues. Abortion is likely to be addressed, too, especially following last night’s vote in Ohio protecting access to the procedure. With frontrunner Donald Trump skipping the debate and holding a competing rally just a few miles away, the five GOP candidates here are hoping to break out as the former president’s top rival.

The White House is skeptical of the latest battleground states polls showing Donald Trump leading Joe Biden. Not surprisingly, the White House is urging caution on the six swing state polls conducted by The New York Times and Siena College. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said people should view them “with a grain of salt.” She pointed to the predicted “red wave” in last year’s midterms that never materialized. The new polls show the president trailing Trump in five of the six states — all states Joe Biden won in 2020.

Meanwhile, Trump was endorsed by his former White House press secretary and current governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Both endorsements were announced in the run-up to Wednesday night’s third GOP debate here in South Florida.

One issue the memo omits is voters’ concerns that Mr. Biden is too old for the job.
