GOP Senators Call For Term Limits On Senate Parliamentarians
A group of Republican senators is calling for term limits on Senate Parliamentarians after the current one rejected several components of the president’s Big Beautiful Bill. Senators Roger Marshall [R-KS], Tommy Tuberville [R-Ala], and Marsha Blackburn [R-TN] on Thursday proposed a resolution that Senate Parliamentarians henceforth be limited to SIX year terms. Senator Marshall notes the current parlimentarian was appointed by Democrat Harry Reid back in 2012. Tuberville note that what he calls “ The Woke Radical Left Senate Parliamentarian” once served as an advisor to Al Gore and has has no right to countermand the 77 million Americans who voted for President Trump and his agenda.
Former Senator Says U.S., Israel Will Keep Up Pressure Against Iran Nuclear Resurgence
A foreign policy expert says despite recent victories both the U.S and Israel will keep up the pressure against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Former Senator Jim Talent [R-MO] says for President Trump that means applying new pressure for Iran to drop all ambitions for a nuclear program. “Real Deadline” Is August Recess: Former Senate Secretary Says July 4th Unlikely For BBB
A former Secretary of the Senate says it’s unlikely the Big Beautiful Bill will make it to the president’s desk by July 4th. Former Secretary Kelly Johnston says Republicans in both the House and Senate are making an earnest effort to pass the bill. However with policy differences dividing Senate Republicans, and the need to pass muster in the House, not to mention a number of mandatory procedural steps Johnston says the 4th is likely an unrealistic goal at this point.
GOP Debates Size Of Rural Relief Fund To Offset Cuts In Medicaid
Rural hospital relief is the latest sticking point as Republicans try to craft a compromise on the president’s “Big Beautiful” tax and spending bill. Republicans Susan Collins [R-ME] of Maine and Lisa Murkowski [R-AK] of Alaska are raising concerns that a proposed $15-BILLION relief fund would not be sufficient to make p for the lost revenues from TENS of billions in cuts to Medicaid. Crafters of the language say their main goal is to trim waste, fraud, and abuse in the bill. However, critics are suggesting that with cuts that large. the relief fund should contain more like $100-Billion to offset losses in rural areas.
D.C. Bakes: Schumer Hospitalized Briefly, Treated For Dehydration
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer [D-NY] was hospitalized for a short time today (on Wednesday) , even as Washington, D.C. suffers from a heat wave. Aides say Schumer began to feel lightheaded in the Senate gym Wednesday morning. A spokesman for Schumer said in a statement -quote- “Out of an abundance of caution, he went to the hospital to be treated for dehydration and is now back at work in the Capitol.” The statement says with the nation’s capital in the grip of a heatwave Schumer wants to remind everyone to drink some water and stay out of the heat.
GOP Senator Criticizes Rough Handling Of Padilla At LA Press Conference
A Republican senator is criticizing the manner in which his Democrat colleague Alex Padilla [D-CA] was detained last week when he interrupted a press conference by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Senator Thom Tillis [R-NC] had plenty of criticism for Padilla, who was detined after interrupting the press conference last week in Los Angeles. But the North Carolina Republican reserved some of his criticism for those who wrestled down Padilla and put him in cuffs. Tillis said on the Senate floor it was disgusting to see anybody wrestled to the floor, but especilly a U.S. senator that’s in a federal building.”.
Senate Holds Hearing On Autopen Scandal
The Senate held a hearing today (Wednesday) on President Biden’s declining health during the final years of his presidency, and the alleged White House coverup. Republican Senator Eric Schmitt says “Autopen” was bigger than Watergate. Schmitt says it’s still unclear exactly who was calling the shots during Biden’s last two years. But he says the investigation is about more than just affixing blame, but rather making sure “this never happens agin.” The committee room was largely empty as Democrats boycotted the hearing. Senator Schmitt was interviewed by the Salem Radio Network.
Senators Turn To X To Praise Israel’s Raid On Iran
Echoes of support for Israel’s strike against Iran are ringing through the halls of the U.S. Senate, and on X. Senator Tom Cotton [R-Ark] applauds what he called the “bravery and audacity of Prime Minister Netanyahu, the IDF, and the Mossad. Pennsylvania Democrat Jon Fetterman used his X account to say “keep wiping out Iranian leadership” and its nuclear personnel. “Game on. Pray for Israel” wrote Senator Lindsey Graham. Senator James Risch [R-ID] —who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations committee wrote that he stands with Israel, is praying for U.S. service members stationed in the region, and warned Iran that it would be—quote-“foolish to attack the United States”

Barrasso: Padilla Should Have Been Casting Votes, Not Making “A Spectacle Of Himself”
California Senator Alex Padilla [D-CA] is being criticized for causing a disruption during a press conference by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in Los Angles. Senate Majority Whip Republican John Barrasso [R-WY] says Padilla should have been on Capitol Hill, not interrupting the press conference where he was handcuffed and forcibly removed. Barrasso told reporters Padilla has wrong to travel to Los Angeles —quote—“ to go try to make a spectacle of himself.” Observers say Democrats are planning to increase their protests this weekend, hoping to use any reaction-or overreaction-from law enforcement as ammuntion against President Trump’s enforcement of immigration laws.
Former Staffers To Testify At Oversight Hearings On Biden Health
A Washington insider says he’s optimistic Congressional hearings will bring out the truth about a white house coverup of President Biden’s declining health while he was in office. The House Oversight Committee will hold hearings on Biden’s health next week and Drew Holden with American Compass believes the truth will come out for all to see. Holden notes that several former white house aides will testify and recent news reports should help the committee.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune [R-SD] is warning colleagues they’ll have to work through the 4th of July break unless they wrap up work on the Big Beautiful Bll by the end of the month. Republicans have been sounding optimistic they can achieve a compromise before June 27th, when they’re scheduled to break for their state work period. This week expected feature major breakthoughs as both the Finance and Agriculture committees hammer out language on soe of the bills most controversial issues. Republicans can afford to lose ony three votes. One already firmly notched in the “NO” column is fiscal hawk Senator Rand Paul, rejecting the bill over its four trillion dollar hike in the debt ceiling.
Senator Hawley Launches Investigation Into Backing For LA Riots
Senator Josh Hawley [R-MO] has launched an investigation into an immigrant rights group he says may be bankrolling the Los Angeles riots. Senator Hawley chairs the Judiciary subcommitee on Crime and Terrorism and says he want’s to know whether funding for the riots came from a locl non-profit. —the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, or CHIRLA. The organization has received funding from sources including the Department of Homeland Security. Hawley now says credible reporting suggest CHIRLA may be providing logistical support and financial resources to some of those involved in the riots.
Democrat Zach Wahls Announces Bid to Unseat Iowa Senator Joni Ernst
Another Democrat has entered the race to unseat Iowa Republican Senator Joni Ernst. Iowa State Senator Zach Wahls announced Wednesday he’s entering the fray in the Democrat effort unseat Ernst, seen as vulnerqble after backlash from dismissing concerns about Medicaid cuts by quipping at a townhall meeting that -quote-“we are all going to die.” The election website Sabato’s Crystall Ball has shifted Ernst’s race slightly toward Democrats from “SAFE” to “LIKELY REPUBLICAN”.
Paul Vows To Trim Billions In Border Funding From House Bill
Senator Rand Paul [R-KY] says he’ll propose a drastic reducton in funding for border security in the Senate version of the Big Beautiful Bill. The House version of the tax and spending bill calls for some $150-BILLION but Paul says only about half that is needed. Paul—who chairs the Senate Homeland Security committee says that’s especially true since border crossings have plummeted since President Trumps re-election. Paul notes Customs and Border Protection itself has said it would cost $6.5 million per mile to build a border wall. A thousand miles of that comes to SIX and half BILLION. Just one reason Paul believes his committee can trim billions from the House bill.
Senator Hawley Proposes Hiking Federal Minimum Wage To $15/hr
Senator Josh Hawley [R-MO] is calling on Congress to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $15,00 an hour. The Missouri Republican says for decades working Americans have seen their wages flatline. He told The Hill a major culprit in that development is -quote-“ “the failure of the federal minimum wage to keep up with the economic reality facing hard-working Americans every day.” Rebekah Paxton with the pro-business employment Policy Institute argues any precipitous hike in the minimum wage would eliminate jobs, limit opportunities for workers, and cause many businesses to shut down.
Fetterman says Dems have Lost Moral High Ground On LA Riots
Democrat Senator Jon Fetterman [D-PA] is taking issue with his own party for its response to the LA riots. Writing on X the Pennsylvania Democrat says “My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement,” Fetterman writes that he unapologetically stands for free speech, peaceful demonstrations , and imigration but adds that —quote-“this is not that.” California’s top officials have called for peqceful demonstrationbut have reserved harsh criticism for President Trump, describing as “inflammatory” his deployment of National Guard troops and Marines to quell the violence.
Moore: CBO Doesn’t Understand Reaction To Tax Cuts Will Be Robust Economic Growth
One of the country’s top economists says voters should not trust the negative projections coming from the Congressional Budget Office about President Trump’s Big Beautiful tax bill. Steve Moore with the Committee to Unleash Prosperity says for decades he’s complained that the CBO doesn’t understand that for every action there’ a reaction. Moore says in the case of tax cuts historic data shows over the past 100 years the reaction has been increased economic activity and higher revenues, without exception.
“Trump Accounts” Would Give Every Newborn $1000 Investment
President Trump is proposing that newborn babies be given $1000 in special “Trump Accounts” to be used later in life. The president hosted a roundtable event where he called the proposed accounts a “pro-family initiative that will help millions of Americans harness the strength of our economy to lift up the next generation.The money would be placed into an index fund to be managed by the child’s legal guardians. Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell said the accounts would make today’s newborns “more likely to graduate college, start a business, buy a home, and achieve lifelong financial stability.”
Judge Refuses Injunction Against Trump Firing Of CPB Board Members
A court victory for President Trump in his effort to fire three board members at the Corporation For Public Broadcasting. A federal judge has refused to grant a premliminary injunction against the administration’s removal of CPB board members Laura Ross, Diane Kaplan and Thomas Rothman. Their firing is tied to President Trump’s effort to defund the CPB for what critics say has been it’s use of tax dollars to harm conservatives and promte Democrats …In his ruling U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss in Washington, D.C. Said the plaintiffs failed to provide convicting proof the firings were unlawful, or that they would suffer irreparable harm—both criteria for preliminary injunctions.
Senate Works To Find Consensus On Big Beautiful Bill
The Senate Finance Committee takes center stage this week as the Senate seeks to finalize its version of the president’s “Big Beautiful” tax bill. The Finance Committee is one of several arenas where Majority Leader John Thune hopes to see Republicans achieve language that can garner at least 51 votes in the full chamber, without losing support of any more than three in the House. Sources say Thune plans to give various working groups a chance to see portions of the bill -and contribute their input—will achieve enough momentum to get the bill over the finish line by the end of the month.

The deficit saw a record narrowing in April. just ahead of the implementation of President Trump’s tariffs According to a report from the US Census Bureau and the US Bureau of Economic Analysis the deficit fell to $61.6 BILLION in April. A decline of 55.5% from March. Exports were up in April by 8.3 BILLION dollars.
