Former Congressman Warns Americans “Naive” About Data Collection
Former Congressman Jason Chaffetz is sounding the alarm about the buying and selling of your personal data. Chafettz [R-UT] calls most Americans “naive” about the collection and use of their information. He says the government collecting and selling your data. And Chaffetz says, that may be the least of our worries, given the government’s sometimes poor job of keeping the information secure. Crime Author John Lott Says Trump Deployments Will Cut Crime In DC
Author and crime expert John R. Lott Jr. says President Trump’s federal presence in Washington DC is bound to make a.dent in the city’s crime rate. Lott says it’s not that hard to see that the was to cut crime is to make it more costly for people to commit crime. He says that can happen with more arrests and convictions, and harsher sentences, and allowing people to defend themselves. Lott says that’s not happening in DC, which only has some 1,300 patrol officers. A burden he says will be eased by Trump’s deployment of some 800 National Guard troops. Lott is the author of More Guns, Less Crime, and spoke with the Salem Radio Network.
Census Bureau Says Illegal Residents Leaving At Rapid Pace
The Census Bureau says the U.S. population of foreign-born residents is rapidly decreasing under President Trump. The latest Census Bureau numbers show the total number of foreign-born people in the country dropped by 2.2 million from January to July. Most of those who left-1.6 million- came from the illegal immigrant population. The numbers show an unprecedented turnaround in that illegals are now leaving the country at an even faster rate than the 120,000/month that flooded into the country under President Biden.

A conservative political organizer says Republicans should have no qualms about redistricting in Texas and elsewhere to add new congressional seats. Ned Ryun with American Majority says there’s a long history of the parties in power redrawing election maps. Federal officials have opened an investigation into Jack Smith, the former special counsel who investigated then-candidate Donald Trump before his reelection. The Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal agency has confirmed that Smith is now under investigation on suspicions he engaged in illegal political activity. Smith was named special counsel to investigate Trump by then-Attorney General Merrick Garland in November 2022. He prosecuted two federal cases against Republican candidate Trump in the lead-up to the November 2024 presidential election. President Trump and his Republican allies, including Sen. Tom Cotton, have accused Smith of violating the Hatch Act, a federal law that bans certain public officials from engaging in political activity.

Thune May Use Extended Recess To Allow Trump To Make Appointments
Majority Leader John Thune [R-SD] says he’s considering using an extended recess to allow President Trump to bypass the Senate confirmation process for a backlog of nominees. Democrats have done a successful job of holding up confirmations and now the backlog is so severe Republican leaders are considering alternatives. Majority Leader Thune has suggested it may be time for a rules change that would make it harder for the minority party to delay confirmations. A more short term solution would be to rely on the president’s power to make recess appointments. If he chooses that route, Thune would need to get 50 Republican on board, and convince the House to also take an extended recess.
Rescission! No Funding For PBS, NPR In 2026 Budget Bill
The Senate has begun consideration a fiscal 2026 budgdet bill that -for the first time in decades-includes no funding for the Corporation For Public Broadcasting. The Appropriations Committee has begun its work on annual bill funding the departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education —which in the past has including funding for the CPB. But that funding was the target of a recednt rescission bill that clawed back some reviously approved money. Committe member Democrat Patty Murray calls it “shameful”, but many Republicans favor the cuts, long accusing NPR and PBS of political bias in favor of the Democrats.
DOJ, CIA Release Newly Declassified Documents On Alleged Russia Hoax
The CIA and Department of Justice have declassified new documents related to the “Russia Collusion” hoax and sent the material to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement the DOJ provided committee chairman Senator Chuck Grassley with previously classified information relating to what she called “Special Counsel Durham’s investigation into possible coordination between the Clinton campaign and the Obama administration to interfere with the 2016 presidential election.” The CIA wrote on its X account that the disclosure -quote-“further advances President Trump’s directive for maximum transparency”.

Not all Trump supporters agree that Fed chairman Jerome Powell should have cut interest rates this week. Former California Congrssman John Campbell [R-CA] says the Fed has to wory about TWO things, inflation and unemployment. Hawley Bill Would Provide $600 Tariff Rebates
A Senate bill would give Americans a rebate from the new revenues coming in from President Trump’s tariff victories. Senator Josh Hawley has introduced a bill that would provide $600 tariff rebates to nearly allAmericans and their dependent children. .Hawley said in a statement -“Like President Trump proposed, my legislation would allow hard-working Americans to benefit from the wealth that Trump’s tariffs are returning to this country,” The legislation would be modeled on the direct payments Congress authorized in the 2020 CARES Act,
