WV Governor Jim Justice Raises Nearly One Million In Senate Bid
West Virginia governor Jim Justice [R-WV] raised nearly a million dollars in the second quarter in his bid to unseat Democrat senator Joe Manchin. The governor’s campaign says he raised $935,000 and ended the quarter with more than $800,000 cash on hand. The campaign drew contributions from more than 5000 individual donors. In the words of campaign manager Roman Stauffer ““In only 64 days, with no prior federal fundraising experience, Governor Justice raised nearly $1 million, and continues to be the strongest Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in West Virginia,” Manchin’s seat is one of a handful held by red-state Democrats that Republicans hope to flip in their bid to regain the Senate majority.
