The White House says Russia is preparing for attacks on civilian ships in the Black Sea. In a statement from the National Security Council, the White House warns that Russia has placed sea mines in the waterways approaching Ukrainian ports. The warning comes just days after Moscow suspended participation in a wartime deal that allowed Ukraine to ship grain to countries around the world. Already this week, Russia has hit Ukraine’s grain export ports with missile and drone attacks, destroying some 60-thousand tons of grain.
