The United States is searching for a missing American in Syrian prisons. President Biden and top U-S officials believe Austin Tice is alive and the government is communicating with people on the ground in Syria about his possible whereabouts. White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said locating Tice and getting him home safely is a “top priority” for the U-S. Tice is a former U.S. Marine and a freelance journalist who was abducted in Syria more than 12 years ago.
