President Trump expressed his views on interest rates during a recent meeting with the Federal Reserve chairman. Thursday’s meeting was the first between Donald Trump and Jerome Powell during the president’s second term. Unlike past presidents, Trump has called the fed chair nasty names and sharply criticized the central bank for not lowering interest rates. Powell told the president that the Fed would make decisions “based solely on careful, objective, and non-political analysis.”
