Trump frees ex-Honduran president after drug trafficking conviction
The former president of Honduras has been released from a U-S prison after receiving a pardon from President Trump. Juan Orlando Hernández was sentenced last year to 45 years for helping drug traffickers move hundreds of tons of cocaine to the U-S. But he’s a free man now after Donald Trump granted him a “full and complete pardon.” The president said he took the action because he believed Hernández was set up. His pardon of a convicted drug trafficker comes at the same time as the Trump administration is taking military action against drug runners in the Caribbean.
