Trump cancels “major news conference” on alleged fraud
Former President Trump has canceled an event next week to unveil what he claims is new evidence of 2020 election fraud. Acting on the advice of lawyers, Trump now says he won’t be holding a “major news conference” on Monday. Hours after being indicted on racketeering charges stemming from the 2020 election, the former president announced plans to reveal new evidence of fraud in Georgia that, he said, would lead to “complete exoneration.” But he writes on social media that his “lawyers would prefer putting this … in formal legal filings.” Federal and state election officials have said there is no credible evidence that the election was tainted.
