The United Methodist Church continues to fight over gay marriage
VERBATIM: The denomination’s highest court says the local pastor, NOT the church elders, has the final say over whether or not a same-sex wedding can take place in a local UMC church. There had been a dispute going on in the Arkansas Conference involving some church trustees who wanted to ban gay marriage ceremonies in their building.
