The U.S. Border Patrol says it’s overwhelmed by a change in human smuggling routes

VERBATIM:

Officials say human smugglers are dropping off hundreds of migrants in a remote desert area in Arizona.

That area around the town of Lukeville is hours away by car to U.S. hospitals and migrant shelters.

Border officials say these migrants come from faraway countries like Senegal, Bangladesh and China.

Meanwhile, the U.S. government has indefinitely closed the crossing between Lukeville and Sonoyta, Mexico.
