VERBATIM: The venerable doctors group says taxpayers should foot the bill for surgeries that would transplant a uterus into a man, who is living as a woman, so that man can give birth to a child. The AMA tells the Journal of Ethics that if men who are living as women cannot give birth, this may cause “psychological dissonance which undermines their health and well-being.” Each of the operations would cost about 300,000 dollars.
