Supreme Court won’t allow Trump to immediately fire head of whistleblower office
The U-S Supreme Court has weighed in on President Trump’s firing of the agency chief dedicated to protecting whistleblowers. In an unsigned order, justices on the high court said that Hampton Dellinger, head of the Office of Special Counsel, could remain in his job at least until next Wednesday. That’s when a lower-court order protecting him expires. Dellinger is the head of the federal agency that protects government whistleblowers. The Supreme Court neither granted nor rejected the administration’s plea to immediately remove him.
