Supreme Court to review Dem lawmakers’ suit over Trump hotel lease
The Supreme Court will review a lawsuit involving the former Trump International Hotel in Washington. In 2017, Democratic lawmakers sued the Trump administration when it refused to turn over information about the Trump Organization’s lease of the hotel. That property has since been sold, but the high court will review an appeals court ruling that allowed the suit to continue. Even the Biden administration agrees with Trump administration officials in fighting the lawmakers’ request — fearing it could lead to a flood of lawsuits from individual members of Congress.
