A Virginia senator says overcrowding poses an ongoing risk at Washington DC’s Reagan National Airport. Reagan is one of the nation’s busiest airports, and just last year Congress approved an FAA reauthorization bill that included permission to add 5 more long range flights. Senator Tim Kaine [D-VA] was among those voting against the expansion, warning at the time the airport was alreqdy operating well beyond it’s designed capacity. Its not been determined whether overcrowding played a role in this weeks air tragedy but Kaine told Fox News “ “It is a very complicated and congested airspace.”  One he says has gotten even more complicated since the 2001 terrorist attacks.
