The Senate took a closer look today (on Wednesday) at why so many major banks are “de-banking” would be customers. Republican Senator John Kenny says a lot of banks are discriminating Against would be customers who are religious, support gun rights, or even because they support fossil fuels. And Mike Ring with Old Glory Bank told the Senate Banking Committee it’s all the mega banks. Republicans and Democrats disagree on whether it’s the banks themselves, or pressure from federal regulators setting bank policy based on a customer’s  political views.
