Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was honored in the U.S. Senate today with a moment of silence. Republican Senator Bernie Moreno [R-OH] invoked the legacy of the slain conservative icon in calling for civil debate on both sides in the Senate. He encountered no objection when he sought unanimous consent for a moment of silence to honor Kirk and his family. A similar gesture erupted into a verbal melee last week in the House. A number of prominent Senate Democrats were quick to offer unqualified condemnation of the Kirk shooting, and call for a unified rejection of all political violence.
