Senate advances Homeland Security nomination toward final vote

President Trump’s homeland security nominee is one step closer to being confirmed. The Senate has advanced the nomination of Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin to be the next head of the Department of Homeland Security. A confirmation vote is expected as early as Monday. If approved, Mullin would replace Secretary Kristi Noem, who was fired earlier this month.
