Romney Weighs 2024 Bid Despite Rising Pro-Trump Sentiment in Utah
Utah Senator Mitt Romney [R-UT] is weighing a possible re-election bid in 2024, despite an uphill climb over his long standing feud with former President Trump. Romney won easily in 2018, but re-election would be much harder after his year-long battle against the former president. A 2024 bid would come even as pro-Trump sentiment is on the rise in Utah. Romney’s most likely primary challenger would be pro-Trump state House Speaker Brad Wilson. Romney has filed the necessary paperwork, but a lackluster funndraising effort netted his campaig only $22,000 in the SECOND quarter.
