Republicans schedule 1st presidential debate for Aug. 23
The first Republican presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle will be held in late August. The Republican National Committee says the Milwaukee debate will take place on August 23rd and that a second debate will be held the following night, if needed.To participate in the debate, GOP candidates must have received campaign contributions from 40-thousand unique donors. Participants also must receive at least 1% support in three national polls, or 1% in two national polls and 1% in two early-voting state polls. Candidates must sign a pledge agreeing not to participate in any non-RNC-sanctioned debate during the election cycle.
