Polls: Americans See Immigration As Top Concern
A pair of new polls may change the tone of some Democrats when it comes to supporting the president’s open border policy. Even as Republicans and Democrats remain at loggerheads here on the Hill over border reforms, a new Gallup poll shows immigration has leaped to the top of the list of concerns for most Americans. The survey shows 28% cited immigration as the most important problem facing the country in February, up from just 20% who said that in January. 61% of respondents to a Monmouth Poll say immigration is a very serious concern and 53% say they support construction of a border wall separating the U.S. from Mexico.
