Paul Vows To Trim Billions In Border Funding From House Bill
Senator Rand Paul [R-KY] says he’ll propose a drastic reducton in funding for border security in the Senate version of the Big Beautiful Bill. The House version of the tax and spending bill calls for some $150-BILLION but Paul says only about half that is needed. Paul—who chairs the Senate Homeland Security committee says that’s especially true since border crossings have plummeted since President Trumps re-election. Paul notes Customs and Border Protection itself has said it would cost $6.5 million per mile to build a border wall. A thousand miles of that comes to SIX and half BILLION. Just one reason Paul believes his committee can trim billions from the House bill.
