In a Washington Post op-ed piece McConnell writes “These escalating attacks from the left betray a fundamental misunderstanding of the court’s structure and purpose,” . He goes on to describe the Court as an “ideologically unpredictable” body  that -quote-“takes cases as they come and produces diverse outcomes.”McConnell cites the Court’s unanimous decision to strike down Alabama’s Republican drawn voting map and notes some 45% of cases have been settled by unanimous votes.
