Plenty of fireworks today on the Senate floor as lawmakers were set to vote on a pair of contrasting Continuing Resolution bills to avoid a government shutdown. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer [D-NY] failed to pass a Democrat version of a CR.  The Democrat bill was meant to make a statement but had no chance of passing.
