Judge restricts Biden admin contact with social media companies

Download
A judge is blocking the Biden administration from working with social media companies about “protected speech.” A Louisiana judge granted the injunction in response to a 2022 lawsuit citing what he called “substantial evidence” of a far-reaching censorship campaign. The suit alleged that the government overstepped in its efforts to convince social media companies to address postings involving the COVID-19 vaccine or elections. A White House official says the administration “promoted responsible actions.” One of the attorneys general who filed the lawsuit said the ruling was “a huge win for the First Amendment and a blow to censorship.”
