Judge blocks DOGE from accessing sensitive information

A federal judge has temporarily blocked Elon Musk’s government office from accessing people’s private data. U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman issued a preliminary injunction blocking access to the private data at the Education and Treasury Departments, and the Office of Personnel Management. The judge found the Trump administration has likely violated federal privacy laws and has failed to adequately explain why DOGE needed access to “millions of records.” Boardman said the administration can still carry out the president’s agenda without receiving unfettered access to a trove of personal data
