The man known to the world as “Joe the Plumber” has died after a long bout with cancer. Samuel “Joe” Wurzelbacher, was thrust into the political spotlight as “Joe the Plumber” after questioning Barack Obama about his economic policies during the 2008 presidential campaign. After gaining fame Wurzelbacher became a sought-after voice by conservatives, wrote a book, and even launched an unsuccesful bid for a seat on Congress.  His family says Joe the Plumber died at the age of 49 after a protracted battle with pancreatic cancer.
