Government figures released this week show strong consumer spending helped the economy grow at a 2-point-8 percent pace from July through September. Even though many American voters complained about the economy, it’s proving surprisingly durable and President-elect Trump will inherit a generally healthy economy. One sticking point, though, is inflation. Prices are about 20 percent higher than they were after Joe Biden took office.
