GOP Sen. Tim Scott launches 2024 presidential campaign
GOP Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina has formally launched his presidential campaign. Scott kicked off his 2024 White House bid in his hometown of North Charleston on the campus of his Baptist alma mater, Charleston Southern University. He repeatedly mentioned his Christian faith as he offered a message of optimism and compassion. Scott didn’t mention Donald Trump or fellow GOP candidates by name, but said the Republican party must choose between “victimhood and victory…grievance or greatness.” On Tuesday, the senator begins a two-day campaign swing to Iowa and New Hampshire.
