VERBATIM: According to numbers from the state’s health department — the abortion rate is down nearly 50% since a new measure that bars abortion as soon as an unborn baby’s heartbeat can be heard. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that last year there were about 4,000 abortions a month in Georgia — now there are less than 2200.
